Warning to others who love and buy this calendar year after year like myself - this year, the publisher Pomegranate has cut the number of pictures almost in half! Previous years used to have 32 paintings/pictures for 52 weeks - this year for 2013 they have reduced the pictures to only 20! I buy this and other Pomegranate calendars yearly, for myself and as gifts, and am so DISAPPOINTED this year - I will NOT be purchasing a weekly engagement calendar with only 20 pictures for the year! Two years ago the fiasco with Pomegranate's ill-advised metal comb binding, which to their credit they removed for 2012 and went back to a regular ring-binding after all the complaints. In recent years they have also reduced the size and eliminated the hard-cover - both of those I could live with, but NOT only 20 pictures for 52 weeks!! For goodness sake, Pomegranate, the images are the reason we buy the calendar! Presumably you are doing this to save money? PLEASE just charge more and return to the format and quality that your customers expect and appreciate. Pomegranate used to offer the best quality engagement calendars available - paper, format, graphics, photos and content. Those of us who buy your product will happily pay a few dollars more for quality! After all, we look at this all year long. Who wants to use a year-long weekly calendar with only 20 pictures? Did you think we wouldn't notice? You lost all my business for your 2013 calendars, and presumably the business of many of your other loyal customers. I will, however, check back in 2014 in the hopes that Pomegranate Publisher will take note of our concerns and include more pictures/images in future years. In the meantime, if readers are looking for alternatives for 2013, I can suggest the Simplicity or Spirit of Place engagement calendars (both by Sellers Publishing) - these 2013 calendars have nice formats, layouts, and plentiful (70!) images!
I hope you continue to carry these calendars, as I have not been able to find them at bookstores and I enjoy using it and giving as a gift.
I buy these appointment calendars every year and enjoy them so much! I feel like an art collector. Highly recommended.
The art in the calendar will be repurposed at the end of the year into a decoupage wall in my office. The artwork is always spectacular.
I got one for myself and also one for a friend. We both love them and are looking forward to next year's.
This is the third year I've purchased The Reading Woman Calendar and every year I'm amazed at the paintings that I've never seen!! I love the illustrations, and also the room each page (one per week) has for writing in notes and appointments. I never leave my house without it!!
